Just as the summer solstice marks the longest day of the year, a turning point where light reaches its peak before the seasons begin to shift, it reminds us that change is both inevitable and powerful. In nature, the solstice is a symbol of renewal and growth. In our lives and workplaces, it offers a moment to pause, reflect, and reset.
Change in the workplace is no longer an occasional disruption; it’s a constant force. Whether it’s evolving roles, hybrid working models, or a shift in team dynamics, one thing is clear: change isn’t going away. And that’s not a bad thing. At this seasonal crossroads, we’re reminded that transformation doesn’t happen all at once it unfolds, just like the shift from spring to summer. And in the workplace, change often looks the same. Whether it’s new roles, evolving team dynamics, or fresh approaches to leadership, the transitions we face may be challenging, but they also create space for something better to emerge. As a small training business based in Yorkshire, we’ve seen first hand how embracing change can open the door to real, lasting growth—for individuals, teams, and entire organisations.
Our Remarkable Leadership Programme has been described as life changing – a past delegate has kindly shared some incredible feedback and insight into how the programme changed her in many ways, you can listen to her feedback by clicking on the links: Feedback 1 / Feedback 2 / Feedback 3. Through our Inspiring Leadership Programmes, we help people not only adapt to change but lead through it. We aim for delegates reshape the way they see themselves and their potential to lead through change. It’s not about adding more to your to-do list; it’s about shifting mindset, strengthening self-awareness, and building the confidence to lead in uncertainty.
Here are four key lessons we’ve learned and continue to share:
1. Change is personal before it’s professional – The solstice invites us to reflect and so does effective leadership. Before guiding others through change, leaders must understand and manage their own emotional responses. Our programmes support this inner work, helping participants build self-awareness and resilience.
2. Adaptability is a muscle, so train it – Just as nature adjusts with the seasons, people can strengthen their ability to respond to the unexpected. Delegates often share how learning to pause and reframe challenges allows them to make better, more composed decisions under pressure.
3. Confidence comes from clarity – Change can cloud judgment, unless you’re clear on who you are and what you stand for. Through coaching, reflection, and peer support, our participants reconnect with their purpose and values, which fuels courageous and authentic leadership.
4. Change sparks culture shifts – We’ve seen again and again that when one person starts to lead differently, more openly, more intentionally, it creates a ripple effect across teams and culture. Change might begin as a personal experience, but its impact can be organisation wide. As individuals grow, so does the culture around them. When one person starts showing up with greater authenticity and courage, it encourages others to do the same. This ripple effect is how real transformation takes root.
One of our recent delegates, after attending our Inspiring Leaders 2-day workshop, shared how the experience helped him work in “a better way to address others” and identified areas that he needed to change to support himself and the business. Have a listen to his feedback on the voice note here. Change will always be part of the workplace landscape, but how we respond to it is up to us. The good news? With the right support, people don’t just cope with change, they lead through it. If the solstice has you reflecting on your next chapter, as a leader, a team member, or a leader of change, now is the perfect time to take the next step. Our Inspiring Leadership Programmes and 2-day workshops are designed to support meaningful growth, whether you’re navigating change or leading others through it.
