Wow, what a year 2025 has been! This year has been a challenging and testing year for not only Pro-Development but for most businesses we work with. And its tough times like this that success comes from not the strength of individuals but the strength of working in a team. I love Henry Fords quote of teamwork “Coming together is a beginning, staying together is progress, and working together is a success.”
So, what are the elements that lead us to have a successful team, a team that supported each other through the highs and the lows of 2025 and still brought about amazing results?
If you’re leader, here are some of our thoughts that will help you….
- Recruit to the values of the business – get the right people from the start
- Provide direction and clarity – get people focused on doing the right thing, at the right time
- Keep communication lines open
- Create a common goal and celebrate wins collectively
- Take time to understand people’s strengths and play to those strengths
- Help people to understand everyone’s contribution
- Be supportive and not judgemental when things don’t go to plan
- Be brave and have regular honest conversations
- Value the importance of connection – allowing for social interaction and to build trust
- Take the time, time to notice and time to check in with people
- Let them know what you value about them as a team member
- Have fun together
Maybe not all these elements were in play for you throughout 2025 so, as we head into 2026, think about what you can do to make it an amazing year for you and your team.
And if you think your team could do with some team building to smash next year’s targets, have a look at the testimonials from our clients to see how we made a difference to their team and get in touch with us to discuss how we can support you.
While teamwork and leadership are critical to navigating challenging years like 2025, it’s also important to pause and reflect on our own individual journeys before rushing into the next set of goals.
In our second January blog, Sue takes a step back from the usual “New Year, New You” narrative and instead encourages us to reflect on what went well, recognise our strengths, and carry our authentic selves forward into 2026. Her blog is a timely reminder that sustainable success – both individually and collectively – comes from building on what already works, not reinventing ourselves from scratch.
If you want 2026 to feel different, it helps to have the right support around you – not generic advice, but practical help that fits your people, your culture and the reality of running a business in Yorkshire and the Humber.
Working with Pro-Development gives you that. We help you understand what’s really going on in your teams, what’s getting in the way, and what will make the biggest difference. Then we turn it into a clear, manageable plan and support you to deliver it – through engaging team building, leadership development, coaching and programmes that stick.
The result is stronger leadership, better conversations, more trust, and teams who pull together when it matters. People feel valued, performance improves, and you build a workplace where everyone can thrive – even when the year is tough. If that’s the kind of year you want in 2026, we’d love to help you make it happen.
If you want this year to be the year where your people feel energised, your leaders feel equipped and your team to be high performing, we’d love to help.
